Our New Parent Group is a relaxed, welcoming space for local families to get together, share experiences, ask questions and make connections. Whether you're pregnant, have a brand-new baby or are finding your feet in parenthood, there's a place for you here.
Professional breastfeeding and infant feeding support is always available, and you don't need to book or pay anything to come along.

A Baby Group Where You Can Just Be Yourself
There's no pressure to join in with activities, introduce yourself to the whole room or have anything particular to talk about.
Some parents come because they'd like a bit of company. Others have feeding questions, want to meet people with babies of a similar age or simply fancy getting out of the house for a while.
You might spend the whole session chatting, or you might spend it feeding, changing or settling your baby. That's absolutely fine!
We know getting out with a baby isn't always straightforward, so please don't worry about arriving late, leaving early or having a baby who needs your attention.
Come as you are. We'll put the kettle on.

Professional Breastfeeding & Infant Feeding Support in Ramsey
One of the things that makes our New Parent Group a little different is that professional breastfeeding and infant feeding support is always available.
Jo Thompson, one of our Connected Parents directors, is a qualified breastfeeding counsellor with many years of experience supporting families with infant feeding.
Whether you're preparing to breastfeed, getting feeding established, experiencing difficulties or simply wondering whether something is normal, you're welcome to come along and talk things through.
We can offer support with things such as:
Getting breastfeeding started
Positioning and attachment
Painful or uncomfortable feeds
Milk supply concerns
Expressing and combination feeding
Understanding your baby's feeding behaviour
Feeding as your baby grows
Finding additional specialist support when needed
We provide evidence-based information in a supportive, non-judgemental environment.
All feeding choices are welcome. You don't have to be breastfeeding to attend our group, and nobody is going to tell you how you should feed your baby.

Do I need to book?
No! Just come along whenever you're ready.
How much does it cost?
Nothing. Our New Parent Group is currently completely free to attend.
Can I come while I'm pregnant?
Absolutely! You're very welcome to join us before your baby arrives. It's a lovely way to get to know some local parents in advance.
Do I have to be breastfeeding?
Not at all. All feeding choices are welcome, and the group is about much more than feeding support.
Can my partner come?
Of course! Partners, dads and other parents are very welcome.
What if my baby cries or needs feeding?
That's what babies do! Nobody will mind. You can feed, change, cuddle or settle your baby whenever you need to.
Do I have to stay for the whole session?
No. Arrive and leave whenever works for you during the session.
Can I come if I don't know anyone?
Please do! Lots of people arrive for the first time without knowing anyone. Sarah, Jo and our helpers will be happy to welcome you.
